Royal Blood is a book that took me by complete surprise; never did I think I’d enjoy a book about the British royal family!

Evan Bright has nine boarding schools under her belt, and due to her misbehaviour, it is time for her to leave and live with her dad she has never met. The King of England.

I’m going to start off by saying that this one could have easily been a five star read had it not had a slow start before all of the action started. It takes a while for Evan to fully trust those around her when she lands in England, all the way from her life in the US, and there are a lot of, expected, but petty arguments that maybe could have been avoided, but once it starts, it starts.

Evan finds herself caught right in the middle of a royal scandal which also doubles as an active murder investigation where she is the number one suspect due to a doctored video clip released for the entire world, press and public, to see.

Since Evan is the current talk of the town, everyone who views the video is quick to make assumtions about her, and what her intentions are surrounding the royal family. Everyone wants a story on her; they want to story of the year.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a murder mystery, and maybe even those who enjoy reading about royalty, I know I haven’t in the past, but, so far, this is the best book I’ve read in the few short weeks that have been 2023.

What a better way to end this post is finding out that this book is the first in a trilogy! I’m rather excited for the next installment, coming 2024; I know it’s only the beginning of 2023, but I can definitely see it being one of my most anticipated reads of next year!

Thank you to Usborne for the ARC!

All the love,

Jade x
